That'll be F28. Don't think the Dynamis goes that high.

I managed to pack it in 10 years ago, but with dcc and all these settings it`s enough to get one started again

Can you alter what the functions do with the Power Cab Nick? Maybe Function Mapping, or am I completely wrong.

It would seem that the NMRA are years behind with setting standards for sound decoders.

The c v settings can be altered even using the dynamis and I take it the functions can but to be honest Doug I`m a bit baffled by it all yet, I reset to maufactures on the dynamis thinking it wold be the loco I was factory setting, and next thing I had lost my settings for all on the dynamis

I think that if you reset sound decoders to factory settings you lose sounds too. You need to go to the ESU? website and check what the settings for your particular sound decoder are.

This on the ESU website.

"Customize your sounds
Unlike other manufacturers, LokSound Select offers you two options to customize your engine. The most simple is by using one (!) CV. You can select the prime mover sound, the desired whistle or horn and the bell. Each LokSound Select offers various options on that.
However, if you are still unsatisfied with the result, you may at any time use the famous LokSound Programmer to download new sounds into the LokSound Select. We offer numerous “ready-made” sound packages for easy downloading. "

Hi Poliss,

The powercab  can   alter functions  ..  but  i  have not  changed  things as  far  as  sound  is concerned with  it using  HO .......  as i  only have sound  in  N scale   locos  and   use the  Procab   on  that  layout.

I changed  the   sound on  the  big  boy no  problems  with  the procab   so  i  would say  yes  to   the  powercab.

Unfortunately not! It's the wheel arangment. It just means 3 - 3 basically. Bo-Bo is 2 - 2.

I can't find the full list. Here's one with quite a few examples.

I think my answer is best co co the clown, I have sent it back to Hornby to-day it developed a squeek so I oiled all the axles ran for another hour but still made a noise, so back to Mr. Hornby

Unless it tells you in the instructions to oil a new loco it shouldn't need any oil for many months. In fact some modern locos never need oiling (teflon gears).

I agree Doug but it does say they can dry out but it was just the axles I oiled and as I said it did not work suspect it could be armature or even the fans on top that rotate but with it being new I did not want to strip it down, let them sort it out.
