Hi All,
As a change to layout contruction i'm spending some time lighting a Kato PRR corrugated passenger car set ..... the small detail parts come in packs with each coach and are very small to fit in the predrilled holes Kato provide on the roofs.
Remove the body from the chassis first off.
The best way to cope with their small size and fit is to open up the hole in the roof using a drill bit just bigger than the hole provided ..... then carefully cut the part from the sprue.
Using a cocktail stick trim of the sharp tip dip it into copydex then attach the part to it let it go off ..... with a thin brass wire apply a small amount of superglue around the hole rim ...... line the part up and press in.
Once the superglue has gone off carefully remove the cocktail stick ...... the Copydex will peel off leaving the part clean.
Run a fan over the coach as it blows away any fumes that cause whitening of parts during the superglues cure ....... an old PC fan is a handy tool to have around.
