Hi,
I was looking for LNER apple green locomotives for the new layout, and as far as I can see only a few classes are produced, Mainly B1's, A1's, B12's, A3's, A4's and K3's by eaither Bachmann or Hornby, does anybody know whether their are any other smaller or similar sized Locomotives? Minus 0-4-0's with a fake LNER identity, Railroad yeah.
Ta in advance. _________________ Please visit

Hornby have made a LNER green and a LNER J83, as well as LNER green J72s (tank engines). There are the large suburban N2 tanks, which have also been done in LNER green and LNER black. Along similar lines there the Bachmann V1/3 tanks, in LNER black. Hornby have also produced B17 footballers/sandringham classes in the past, and finally the D49 (unsure about D49 liveries available). Most of these are available from ebay, and second hand at model shops etc, the only one that might be more tricky to get hold of is the D49.
Wow, thank you all, I really like the look of the little Jinty Loco, thanks Teleman. also Noakesy: i forgot the J72's Ta. _________________ Please visit

(Thanks for all the help so far) _________________ Please visit

A good start for wagon kits is Parkside Dundas

Most of my 009 wagons have come from them and you can find them in model shops to . As for locos thats a bit harder and most are metal kits , i will have a hunt for you but be warned loco kits are not cheep _________________ Experience is something you don' t get until just after you need it .

I'd reccomend Ratio wagon kits, Joe. Painted right, they look fab, and they come with transfers, couplings and wheels. I bought a SR van, looked brilliant. There a good few pre-BR designs there, and an LNER layout doesn't mean all LNER wagons. _________________ Life is like a box of chocolates, so scoff it all while you can... Thank you Peter, Camborner and Noakesy.
You all really helped there, I dont think my Local Model shop stocks any plastic kits but I'll ask tommorrow, I already have a few suitable 1930/40's wagons that are ready to run, albeit mostly GWR but as Camborner says, they dont all have to be LNER, funny thing a few of my wagons have relatives names on, like Martin or Roberts, and one has my initials on Oh and Camborner, maybe wagons that need painting arent so good for me if they need painting right, I use about 86 different colours for a kit that's meant to be one maybe I need some of them new Humbrol rail colours?
I Know that Locomotive kits arent cheap but I didn't know most were metal, maybe I'll drop that idea for a few years then, I really cant work with anything other than wood or plastic, Thank you all by the way,
My Local Model shop stocks a few kits, Can't remember which Range it was but it was all LNER Locomotives, very pricey at around £65 without wheels, motors, or decals/ paint though. Still lots of good kits, Ill have a look again tommorrow.
