Modell einer walisischen Schmalspur Dampflok der britischen Bauart Fairlie. Das Modell wird im Maßstab 1:76 gehalten für den Betrieb auf 9mm Schmalspurgleisen.
Which roughly translated means.
"Model of a walisischen Schmalspur steam locomotive of the British design Fairlie. The model on a scale 1:76 held for the enterprise 9mm narrow trace tracks." Or, to put it another way, a double ended Fairlie in 009.

Mind if I polish uo your translation a bit?

"Model of a Welsh narrow gauge steam locomotive of the British  Fairlie design. The model is in 1:76 proportion for use on 9mm narrow gauge tracks."

This would right fit in with 00-gauge, wouldn't it? I'm not that familiar with British gauges...

Thanks for the much improved translation Erhard. Bablefish has it's uses, but it's not very good.
British scales: OO is 1/76 scale but uses HO scale track.
OO9 is for prototype narrow gauge locomotives. The scale is 1/76 on N Gauge track.

Thx for enlightening me

And while we're at it: What is the reason, the British opted for 1/152 instead of 1/160 for N-scale? Must surely have a logical reason...

British N Gauge is 1/148. The usual reason given is that, as for OO gauge, the motors available at the time were too large to fit into the locomotives. To confuse matters still further, Japan uses 1/150 as well as 1/160.
