Hi,

some of you may already know but for those who don't I have recently started rebuilding Stockdale on Sea, I felt the old design lacked the feeling of a real location, afterall it was incredibly small.

So my first decision was to make a more reliable and more realistic trackplan, I'll get some photographs up soon, but this led to a problem if I was to make the trackplan stay where it was put I would need to design the thing over the join, this meant cutting the track but this forced no problem, I did have to sort one point out as it kept rising above another track when the hinge was down, but I sorted this out with some wire, screws and glue, then I attached some copper wire to help with the flow of electricity, I tested it and it all works fine.

Over the coming weeks I shall improve on the scenics, I have already taken everything off, I need a new station, and tunnel mouths, I have also built a castle ruin which will sit where the town and road used to, It will (I hope) look much more meaningful,

Thanks,

Joe

I'd specially like to see how you've done the join. Did you use blocks to rais the hinges up?

Hi Pol, Origanally I left the hinge under the trackwork and everything worked fine but as soon as I folded it away the trackwork broke and I had to rethink, what I did was install another hinge away from the trackwork and then remove the original hinge, now all I need to do is relay some track and it should all work fine.

Hi Tom, I will wait as of yet all the layout is is a new trackplan but when I build the tunnel mouths and hill sides and also a new station I should be finished, I promise It looks and feels alot better than the older design, I'll take pics when it's finished.
