I will put a note here on a new topic as people often ask why i solder so easy , simple realy its all down to the type of solder you use .

The solder they sell in shops is now lead free and needs a tip temperature of apx 370 c
Leaded solder that they sold before needs a tip temperture of apx 310 c
You can get solder with 2% silver in that needs a tip temperture of apx 290 c

So if you have an old solding iron it might on be getting hot enough , not your soldering skills

I always  use  60/40  solder and get  good  results  with  my  25  watt  Antex  iron
