Yes I am convinced now, as to-night the Hornby I find have about 6 different couplings there is the swallow tail in 2 sizes the fixed ones the push in ones (not swallow tail) need I say more and mr Hornby says if the spring has retracted on my 56 I need to send it back to them for repair. Bachmann in the future.
