The Literary & Philosophical Society (Lit & Phil) is the largest independent library outside London, housing over 150,000 books. It is situated right next to the Central Station Newcastle.

The Lit and Phil is mentioned a lot in the Geordie Joke book, that's how I know about it. I'll have to go there one day.

Might  consider  a visit   on my  next  visit  up  there   before  jumping on the  metro     mind  i'm not  a  reader  really  last  book i bought  was  about   12 years ago  and  its  still   in  the  paper  bag   i  brought  it  home in
