2-6-01?I have come across a Deutsche Bundesbahn HO gauge that is given as 2-6-01. (It's in Cyril Freezer's 'Model Railways', page 2 .
How does this work? 1 wheel at the back?

I would think so yes, never heard of one before though, just a logical guess. Or maybe it has a smaller wheel inide the driving wheels, Pol had a link somewhere showing some like that with smaller wheels classed as 01's (I think).

Was it a '1'? Could it have been perhaps an 'l' or an 'I'? Or maybe a missprint and it's a 2-6-0T?
