Where do they keep the coal in those double Fairlies? (I know they run on ga sat the mo).

They do say its one of the problems with them is the lack of coal they can carryso it must have gone in the cab or on top of the water tanks .
BTW they run on oil , so they must be diesel~steam locos

Remind me again... why that configuration? What's wrong with a bigger boiler and one set of cylinders etc.?

Because of the weight on each wheel and they can turn on a sharper curve

I didn't realise that they were articulated. You learn summink every day! (I learnt something else today..... Fox transfers are so tiny that they are very difficult to apply. grrr)

Plus they don't need a turntable. Are you using a pin to move the transfers tom?

I used a pin, a small brush, a dogs hair, a scalpel... every bl---y thing I could think of! The black lining is only 0.5mm wide and the surface tension of the water was enough to make it skew all over the place!!
And because you have to lay the black on top of the yellow, the yellow starts to lift - even though you leave it for 24hrs to cure!!!

No, Pol I didn't. You can't get BR Maroon (Blood) and BR Yellow (Custard) in opaque ink and thinned paint doesn't work either.
The transfers are wonderful but just VERY fiddly to apply. I think if I was applying them to a new-build kit, they'd go on easier because the finish to the loco would be that much better.
Still, it was good experience!
