Airfix Class 31 Diesel

Is there a service sheet available for the Airfix Class 31?  Need to rebuild the non-powered bogie.  Could also do with a complete pick up.

PM with info please.

Airfix never produced Service sheets for any of their locomotives AFAIK.

All three axle's on the trailing bogie are insulated, so it doesn't matter which way they fit in the trailing bogie. The pick-up plate is held in place by two screws, with six wipers (3 each side) touching the wheels.
The bogie is held in place on the chassis by a single screw and washer.

Two wires, are soldered to each of the pick-up's then run along each side of the body and connect directly to the two pick-up brushes. Make sure both of the brushes are insulated, otherwise a short circuit will occur.

Did you know that Airfix claimed that one of the Class 31's taken straight from the assembly line hauled 106 Mk2 coaches without stalling.

The only exploded view I've seen of an Airfix Class 31 is this picture of Pat Hammonds stall at an exhibition.

They look very much like the current Hornby sheets...
