Best controller

What is your favourite general 00 controller (DC or DCC)?
Teleman

ECM (they are now over 20 years old and work as good as the day i brouoght them)
poliss

The only DCC one I've tried is the Lokmaus 2. No problems with it apart from the Germglish translation.
I'm expecting the arrival of an old Farish controller any day now. Will report on how it goes.
The controller I don't like is the new Bachmann/Farish one. Not a good shape for fitting to control panels and NO accessory outputs!
Teleman

The ECM one is a panel mount about the same size as a light switch .
poliss

Does the ECM have a seperate transformer?
Teleman

Yes , It needs a 16 volt 1 amp transformer

Recommendations?

Showing my age now Ive got Hammet and Morgan 1 duet & 2 clippers must be at least 30years old
poliss

The only H&M you see these days are cothes. lol They do make Hornby's I think.
filonian

Yes thinking of getting H&M 2000 has any one got one, any comments please.
SRBICE

I haven't got one, but I think that they are relatively powerful.
Teleman

The H&M were bomb proof i've still got my Clipper and you can draw almost 2 amps from that .
It used on Ryans layout for the point motors and the turntable
Rog (RJ)

The H&M 2000 has been reported as not giving full power to the track so engines tend to run slow.  I've never used one so I don't know, just saying what I've read
filonian

Spoke too soon about my duet, while running this weakend got a very strong burning smell and a hot box so looks like goodby to my old friend of 30 plus years.
poliss
