Hi Guys.

Introducing Breitefurt. This is my first proper layout (as opposed to some toy train sets many years ago). Started building last July and have proceeded sporadically ever since.

Breitefurt is an imaginary station somewhere in Germany some time before WW2. (I'm gradually selling of much of my later stuff on *B*y.) B~ station, situated on a busy main line, is the outer terminus for commuter trains feeding a nearby metropolis so there is some scope for operational interest (or, rather, there will be when I get it all working) and also serves a, currently non existing, branch line. If you are interested, you can see more on my website, http://trains.manvell.org.uk/ where, eventually, I will upload some decent pictures and, if I can work it out, some videos.

The layout has been shown at two exhibitions as a work in progress and is due to go on show again at Easter.

I am terribly forgetful but will try to remember to send updates every so often.

Looks excellent to me. Can't wait to see the Easter pics. Especially like how the layout was low enough for kids to see.

I have a terrybull time with photos - just cannot get everything together between flah gun and camera. (You know the sort of thing - camera on wide angle and flash on telephoto - but will try.)

Last time at Elgin the table they supplied was just perfect for kids but a bit too low for me so I guess it will be OK next time as well.

I'm cussin away here - cannot find several of the buildings!

Even older tom

I've been following your blog Chris and that's a lot of wiring you've done. It looks good even without any surface on the baseboard, the addition of the buildings, cars and trees etc. brings it to life. Have fun at Elgin!

While I'm here, have you any ideas where I can get a couple of 50's American outline Z scale cars and trucks? I didn't want to spend any money on Ridley USA but I think it's a bit beyond me to make 1:220 vehicles so I'm gonna have to buy them (if they are available)
