Can I get away with grey ballast?Ridley USA is coming along fine (well, it sort of is. I'll do an update soon ) except that I don't know if grey ballast will be right. Would they import ballast or use whatever was local? Ridley USA is a sort of sandy colour and I'll need to be convinced that grey ballast wouldn't look out of place.
I can't find any photos on the net so I'm going to have to rely (as usual) on all you lovely people who've either been there or managed to find some reference material.
Cheers

Here's a great one from a brownish desert setting with a big pile of grey ballast.

From the first link that poliss gave it apears to be a dusty white ballast, try different shades of whites and browns on bits of ballast with ground chalk pastels and se what works, this would be my method but ive never done it before so dont take my word for that.

I've just realised that the forum banner picture shows Jupiter with grey ballast!
Should we all be a bit embarrassed Pol?
