Class 88

With the lack of any real info i got the saw out and started cutting two Hornby bodys up

Its a messy job and i still have all my fingers

Then with a bit af trimming i got this far

IT FITS !   (in panto mode) Looks like a class 88 will go to the loco shed ball  get it ?

Now the slow bit ,filling to made her look realy smart

The joke ?, Pantograph , electric loco   I can hear the groans
Joe

Looks very good!!
poliss

Looking great and since it never got beyond the concept stage, no-one can tell you it's wrong.
Teleman

I know Pol   one to get the rivit counters going
Joe

I think if you showed it to a Hardcore Rivet counter they may explode... just because they can't rag the model
Camborner

Looking marvelous! What livery is it going to be in?
Teleman

Still thinking about the livery , but i think it will stay in Railfreight gray as if they had of made it thats what it would have been . Or might be experimental blue
Noakesy123

Looks Brilliant! You just need a chassis now...
Will

*Rivet counter moment* Pete, it still says 58014! :lol
Teleman

Thanks Will    theres always one , Thinks .....Its the number of rivits used so far

Noakesy ... I have the chassis and bogies , just need to find a motor as the old one is naff
poliss

Naff Motors, aren't they a North Korean firm?
Teleman

Spelt diffrent though , i think Knaff
Teleman

The Boss found out and sent in the painter , He said the paint gors darker after it drys

Will

Well, it's better than before
RetroGoth

Impressive!  I suggested this to what's his name at ficticious liveries to do.  First he stuck a pantograph on top of a HST before doing the "modular" loco.  He never once gave me credit so I stopped sending him stuff.

I started off that whole stema loco in BR blue thing by the way!
Teleman

A bit of paint and the panels by the door later and here it is

Still loads to do but a bit of paint always shows were more filling or sanding is needed
Teleman

STOP PRESS NEWS !

It lives !!! I have fitted a motor from an Airfix 14xx and made a few mods to it , bolted it in and its running a treat   just need a few more Hornby gears so it drives on more than one set of wheels
poliss

You'll need a little bottle of champagnie to christen it.
Teleman

Drinking a beer as i type
One for you to ?
poliss

Cheers, could do with one.
Noakesy123

Chuck me one too!

Good too see you got it running. Cant wait to see a vid (nudge, nudge, hint, hint).
Teleman

Okay , and a coke for Noakesy , I might get the camera out now i will see if the battery is charged up
Teleman

Here you go , the light is poor but you can see it , not much time to do it as Deb wanted the table

Six coachies , no trouble and remember its only driving on one wheel
upnick

''Still loads to do but a bit of paint always shows were more filling or sanding is needed''

The weathering  washes   show  any  imperfectons  up  as  well   Teleman    been  there  done  that  one

Its  coming on  great  though  ...  cant wait to  see  the  vid

EDIT:  you  sneeked  the  vid  on as  i  was posting
Noakesy123

Nice one. Thanks. I said I wanted a beer though, not a Coke!!!
Even older tom

A smashing job Pete.
It's always a great feeling when a project like this works and you know that
a) it was worth the effort and
b) you have a loco that no-one else has got!

Good one
Teleman

Thanks Tom , Now the hard bit starts , It will need some more work sanding and filling then a repaint but the basics are now all done , I wonder what Dave will do with the cab from the 91 ?

Noakesy , As long as you don't drink it to quicky you can have a beer
Noakesy123

Like Tom said, well done, yoou have something no-one else has got!
