Consist Not SupportedNow that I have working decoders in my Sharknose A+B units I thought I'd better check my Lokmaus II manual on how to set up a consist only to find that they're not mentioned. It seems that as it's an old basic system that consists are not supported. I suppose I'll have to try to match the speeds of both units as closely as possible and then run them off the same address.

Hi Poliss,
No consist on the lokmaus .... i have looked at the manual for the Lokmaus and cant find anything for consist either ........ of course it does say programme only one loco at a time on the layout ....... i would reset the decoders to 03 and place them both on and reprog to number of your choice and try them in speed step 128.
With your layout being on the level if one loco is slightly slower it wont be to noticible.

The Digitrax fitted A unit goes a lot faster then the Hornby fitted B unit at the same setting on the dial. Haven't worked out how to synchronise them yet.

Hi Poliss,
The Digitrax decoder is it the DN141E2 ? if so according to the manual CV55/6/7 adjustment should help ..... though it isnt mentioned for this decoder running the loco in road switcher/switcher mode may steady it down .... some digitrax decoders dont support this but you could look at the manual for the Kato NW2 on the digitrax site
http://www.digitrax.com/ftp/dn123k3.pdf
Changing CV's 2/5/6/ as shown there, i have changed as the table in the NW2 manual and it does make a noticible difference in the locos performance.

I tried adjusting those CVs last night. It slowed the loco down too much as I remember. What does "To turn on the switching speed feature, program CV54 to a value of
001/x01 " mean? Or, what's the diff between 001 and x01. Where does the x come from?
Decoder protocols may be standardised by the NMRA. I wish the manuals were too.

Hi Poliss,
CV54 is defined here on the digitrax tech part of the site & handles torque compensation.

As to the X01 i think it is for decimal/hexidecimal values not sure though i usually use values without the X

Had a look at the DN141E2 specs, CV54 not available. The Big H decoders have very few CVs and CV19 isn't one of them. Double
Think adjusting CV2 and CV5 as in this Wiki is my best/only option. http://www.dccwiki.com/MU_consisting#Matching_speeds

Oh balderpiffle!! Hornby decoders only support CVs 1-3-4 and 29 so I can't adjust CV2. Adjusting the Digitrax CVs made the A unit run too slow.
