DCC in Dock Shunter???

Hi folks,

Anyone know which decoder I should use for the classic R253 Dock Shunter?

I intend removing the lamp and replacing the bulb with an LED.  I would like to control the LED via the function feature.  I picked up an 8pin socket (without colour coded wires) and intend to replace these with the correct ones.

Can someone give me a wiring guide for the 8 pin socket and what rating the old motor bogie is?

Thanks folks!

I should think the TCS M1 should be ok. It has been used for other Tri-ang locomotives such as the 0-4-0 Tank Engine. http://tinyurl.com/deuk9k

Here's the service sheet for the motor bogie should you need it. http://tinyurl.com/c9jufl

I found a pic with colours for an 8 pin plug. http://tinyurl.com/dnl9mz It's from the DCC Supplies website. http://www.dccsupplies.com/

To check the rating for the motor bogie follow Pete's instructions on the forum here.

If you send your installation pics to TCS they give you a free decoder. See here for details. http://www.tcsdcc.com/customerpics.html

Hope it's what you're looking for.
