Diesels - which way round?!?

I always thought that diesels should be run fan first - my two class 31, class 47 and Class 40 all seem to be that way inclined!

However, how do I know which way to run a Class 55 Deltic (fans at both ends) or Class 42(?) Warship (no fans)?

Also, I've got a Class 37 that runs fine with the fan at the rear, but struggles badly fan first!

Is the fan first rule nonsense?!?

Not realy , the fan end is the 'A' cab as a rule . On models normaly you run them motor first but there is no right or wrong way .
BTW Falcon has two fans

Cheers Teleman. I meant no fans at the end on the Dragon. That seems to make sense and holds true with my locos!
