Do you have double-slips on your layout?

You get some interesting and unexpected train movements by using them. I'll have to record a vid to show what I mean.
SRBICE

Sounds great! How do they work? I have always been bemused by them!
poliss

They're like a diamond crossing but you can turn on them as well as going straight across. You can see them in my movie. Notice how the train uses both circuits without any points being changed.

Everyone noticed the full size one are painted white...?
poliss

No, where's the pic?

They have a scissors point at Cambridge station , thats a three track cross over from any rail to any rail , that might come in handy for your layout Poliss . Next time i'm there i will take a picture of it .

We have 1 on our small club layout, it has to be worked manual but saves a lot of room by cutting down on points.
poliss

Why manually operated?

Hi Poliss, we have not got round to sorting out the problems that we see fitting motors and wiring, can you offer any advice please,

Best regards Ian.

What make of double slip do you have? My Minitrix ones are easy to fit, they just clip on the side. Here's mine, the motor can be turned over and hidden below track level. http://www.trixtrains.com/new07/2008newitems.html Click the pic to see it in close-up.

Hi Polis,

Its a Peco one,but we are having to put things on hold now as we have heard that the rooms where we are has had an outline planing application put before the council to alter them into flats.

Here are some links to wire the double slip. Some are N scale, but they should be similar.
