Yeah, most Steam locomotive transportation is done by Road on lage low loaders unless the lines have rail connections and the loco is large enough to be dragged at some speed.
Locomotives travelling around Tom varies loco to loco. Some locos travel alot, such as class 14 D9520 which last year spent all summer away from NVR at several different lines, and has just lft again, whereas some never leave the railways. Sometime engines will just visit for a gala on 1 weekend, sometimes they stay for months, such as Alycidon at NVR right now.
