For Camborner :-)

Looking at this vid I would say that there's something seriously wrong with the surviving plans of the Trevithick locomotive. No way would the driver stand that far away from the controls.

(Watches video)

Er, um... Maybe they missed off a wafer thin piece of wood that isn't that visable on the old plans? Oh alright, maybe Trevithick wasn't the best...

Nice video poliss, thenks for sharing. Never seen the thing in real life though, only ever seen the road engine replica.

I reckon the original was different and everything fitted better.
Remember that it wasn't until very recently they found out how Novelty worked. All previous replicas failing miserably to get steam up.

Really? When was this? I remember they re-ran the Rainhill Trials with the replicas on TV once. I wonder how different the results would be with a correct Novelty...

As I remember it was on "Timewatch - Rocket and Its Rivals" 2003. I think it was something to do with the blower, but can I find a website to refresh my memory? Nope.
