Hayle - St Ives

Probably a question for for Camborner really, as it's his neck of the woods...

I'm off the Hayle for me hols in August. I've heard it's a nightmare to park in St Ives so is it possible to get a train from Hayle to St Ives at all? Is it a good service?

Also, what's the nearest Heritage Railway in that area?

I'm going to St Ives that time of year on holiday aswell, Any good heritage railways around that I can annoy my Dad with?

For a typical Saturday, the service betwwen Hayle and St Ives is limted and requires a change at St Erth. The Earliest departure from Hayle is at 0739. After changing at St Erth to the 0801, you can arrive at St Ives at 0813. If this is too early, the next train from Hayle is at 1006 which would get you into St Ives at 1024.

Wording train times like that is quite confusing so go on this website and enter the date and rough time of your journey;
