Hornby now say leave em inSuppression capacitors that is.
I was following up a question on the Big H about runnaway trains on DCC, found this webpage http://www.wiringfordcc.com/runaway.htm so went to the Hornby FAQ's to see there was anything about dissabling DC on CV29. I noticed there were two different FAQ's. One I'd read before, H don't know if suppression caps should be removed blah blah blah. But there was also a new FAQ that says leave them in place. https://www.hornby.com/customer-support/faq/hornby-dcc,40,HAR.html
I put a message for the forum admin about the FAQ's and within a few mins the old one was removed.

I think it should be left across the motor but thats it . On some DCC moudles they have that cap fitted to the board so it can be removed . Its a case of see the instalation sheet that comes with the decoder and follow that as far as i can make out .
If the cap is across the pick ups it might upset the DCC signal , i can't tell because i can't find a site that gives the info needed to work it out .All they say is its AC , now thats brown and smelly because they then show a signal on a carrier so it more like a FM radio signal

Some sites say leave em in, others say rip em out. I say try with them in first then if there are problems, take them out.

If there across the motor there should not be any problems

I always try the loco with the caps left in and only if I get any problems do I take them out.
