How many locomotives before Rocket?I can think of the three by Trevithick. Then there's Puffing Billy, Billy, Steam Elephant, the Killingworth Colliery Locomotive, Locomotion No.1, Derwent, Royal George, four Blenkinsop Rack Locomotives Anyone know what others were erected before Rocket?

So that would be 1829 ? cause my book says Derwent was built in 1839 or was there two of them ?

Erm, that's a big OOOPS from me. I never bothered to check the date Derwent was built. I put it before the Rocket because I saw it at Darlington station many years ago and my young mind thought they must be from the same time.
Unforgivable as I saw it again in the new museum about 3 years ago. The museum site says it was built in 1845. I must be getting senile.
