*Actually it says write 08 and not 8, but who enters the '0' in their controller?

Good info Poliss,
I have tried reading manufacturers number after fitting a decoder and got the number 255 which doesnt exist meaning there is a fault more than like a short on the install .....after checking it was corrected and a normal reading of 153(TCS) in this case came back.
