Good  idea  Poliss    now  i wonder  how  you  found  that  posting    

Where  the guy  has  mounted the decoder i  need  to  mount  a plasticard plate  to  hold the  rear  light,  the  decoder  on mine  is going  on another  plate  above  the  motor.

I'll agree that it's a good indicator of available space but would not take it as being that accurate.  My locos have varying thickness' of body shell so there might not be as much space as you think.  
Neat idea, though.
