Layout progress

Well, a little bit, but not much.  Decided that on of my lines was redundant, so out it came. Got more room in the sidings now. Took a step back to get a better view. Thought to myself 'Why do cross members on baseboards always end up exactly where you want your points to be?' Wondered if I had enough room for the catch points. Considered what kind of uncouplers to use. Will the Peco kits work or should I buy Kato's? Will Kato's work on Rapido's?

Gave the peco scissors crossing my best Paddington Bear look. Only bought it because it was one of those things I've always wanted, but it's not a patch on the Kato version. When will British track be updated to late 20th century standards? Is it because there's too much clamour for new locos? You hardly every see anyone on the Big H ask for anything else.

Should I use copper tape as a main 'B' bus on top of the layout and then cover it with scenery? Will velcro be strong enough to hold my controllers when I close the front panel? How can I make a mimic diagram with lights and switches which show route settings?

These and many  more questions will (not) be answered in next weeks edition of Soap.
Confused? You will be. *whistles theme tune*

How about a track plan then Pol

Track plan changes all the time. At the moment it's a double track oval with 5 carriage sidings/loco shed on the left. More sidings and turntable to the right. Station is on the inner side of the double track oval with access via double slips.
