Lights on your layout not working?Maybe this little piece of equipment may be of help?
http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/app.detail/walk.yah.UKGD~U346
It's designed for finding faults in Xmas lights but could it work on your railway? Don't miss the video presentation. How it fixes the lights has me stumped. Any explanation from the electrical experts out there?

All gone Pol. Link leads to nowhere (well it did for me).
Are you a closet QVC viewer, I wonder?

I hate these websites that won't link properly!! If you click 'lights' on the left it's item 754302 Christmas Lights Repair Tool & Bulb Tester. Should be the first thing there.
Our cupboards are full of QVC stuff Tom. I wish the UK site was more like Americas. They have proper model railways over there!

Good item Poliss
If QVC stocked railways you would be off to B&Q for more cupboards.

I'm really not sure how it works but it sounds like it sends a very short, high voltage surge down the wire (using the same principle as electronic ignition on today's car engines) and shorts the 'bridge' on the failed bulb.
It wouldn't work for my Xmas lights because they have always stayed alight, except for the failed bulb, on every set we've had since 1980!
Are there still sets out there that all go out if a bulb fails?
Nice idea, though..
