Yes, it is. Sounds a bit odd too. I think it's because I had to take it apart once. It has never been the same since!

What size is your layout and how many passengers do you have?

Only a small 6X4 layout as I don't have much room at the moment, though I'm hoping to expand it soon. As for passengers, I don't know!

I think you need 12' for a 00 layout. My N Scale is 6' and I think it's not nearly long enough.

Yes. However, it's only a 'starter' layout, that I use for testing trains and trying new scenery techniques.
