N Scale Coupler Types

Confused about all the different coupler types available for N-Scale these days?  You’re not alone. Here's a webpage that shows you the different types. http://www.nscaledivision.com/information_on_couplers.htm

which  coupler are you  going  to go for  then  poliss  ?

MT    here  .......   though  the  Mc  Henry  look   good   dont  fancy  replacing  those  springs  though  if  they   fly  off

Could always get Tom to put them back in. I haven't had a close look, (glasses+magnifying glass) at the couplers on my Big Boy. Are they McHenry?
That website seems a bit out of date already because I've found at least 3 other Kato coupling types.

What to replace mine with? Hmmm, which ones come with little boxes so that I can cut some of the strange Rapido coupling mounts off?

Hi  Poliss,
Looked at  my  Big  boy's  here and  they   arent the Mc  Henry  type   more acumate   Atlas.  Yes  there are  a  lot more  Kato  types than  the site  mentions   .......   the  little  box type i  think   are  MT   i  use a standard   truck  on the stock   removing  the  bolster  pin    remove the old  and in with  the new     some Bchmann  held  on with  screws may  need  the bolster  pin hole enlarging with  a  round file carfully   to fit though.

Buy  the bulk  packs of  trucks   better value for money  .....    replacing  the  whole of  the truck saves  fiddling  with   the  little  boxes & the coupler  will  be  NMRA   standard   in  height .....  in the future  it takes minutes  to   put  the  original back on.

My very old Atlas heavyweight pullmans have 6 wheel bogies. I wish there were websites with part numbers and wheel diameters listed. I waste money buying the wrong ones.
