N scale is as chaotic as OO...

This month's BRM has the following table:

N Gauge:

American and continental scale 1:160 = 4'8.5"
Japanese scale 1:150 = 4'5.1"
British scale 1:148 = 4'4.5"

It's all beyond me, it really is.....

It's not that simple. There are two N Scales in Japan. The 1:150 for their narrow gauge stock and 1:160 for the Shinkansen Bullet trains.
Then of course there's the old Lone-Star British Treble O, which is a different scale again. There's some more too, but I can't think of them offhand.
