Points over board joints.Hi,
I was wondering how I would go about making a point cross a board joint. I was wondering if at all this was possible and what I would need to do without breaking the point?
Or should this be avoided altogether? If so I will have to make a new baseboard, I hate going backwards, twice!
Thanks

I'd say don't fiddle with the points. Shorten the straight that the point is attached to so that the points just reach the edge of the board.
Shortening straights is a lot easier than points!
If it means a re-design, then so be it - the chances of shortening points well is pretty remote Joe.

Just dont do it at all Joe , also have a short piece of track at the joint , even if a few cm long as that way if there is any damage to the edge of the board you only have to replace a short length of track and not a whole point .

I Hope I ws wondering becuase Ive had some help from Noakesy and Camborner with the new trackplan and one of the points crosses a joint, I'll have to work around it, Thanks again.

Hi Joe,
I totally agree withh Tom/Peter,
Same thing happened here on Novahill a point came on the join of a board i moved the toe of the point onto the next boards edge to solve it a couple of times.
