Polished steel paint

I went into the local model shop (the aero modellers ones) to get some brass today and while i was there he was sorting out his paints that had just come in . One stood out 'Polished steel' just right for hand rails i thought .

It says ......Stir well etc...... after 20-30 minutes drying time then polish with a soft dry cloth ....
Not tryed it yet but i will let you know

Hi Pete,

This   range of  metalcote paints work  well    the  gunmetal    gives a good  deep  finish  as well for handrails .......    use  matt    black  as   an  undercoat it  always  gives a better  depth of finish   and  provides  a  good  key for  the metalcote  ....  tip i  got  from  a  pro   modelmaker

After stirring  with  cocktail  stick  pick  the paint  from the tip  of the stick it contains  more  pigment   as the  paint tends to  settle  in  the tin  after  stirring leaving  the   thinner  on top  where you   usually   pick  paint  from.

Varnish over  the   buffed   paint  isnt  always    good   so best  leave  it as  is.

Wish they still  made   satin  gold  in  the range    my  supply  of  it   is very low   and still  searching  for old  stock  of  it

Don't worry if they have some i will get it , Its just its the sort of shop you have to go to .. er .. that sounds bad ,, but its on a main road with no parking so they don't get much passing trade , Its a very busy road so you can wait for ages to cross so i park about 400 yards away on a side street and walk , its quicker than trying to cross the road , so they often have things that others have run out of because people can't be bothered to go there

Moved topic to the scenic section and stickied it because it's just the paint I need for my old Tomix track buffer section. I't plastic and the paints worn off.
