I like the track in the first vid, makes my high sided Unitrack look realistic.  I think I have a red bobber caboose like the one in the photo*.
Enjoyed the second video where the engineer is winding up his 'clockwork' loco.
it appears from the end of your story that you had an exhausting day. lol *The photo at the right of the caboose has the dreaded red x.

Didn't need the water pipe. I guess, we put some poeple off anyway, snoring away till we touched down in Mephis  At least, the seat at my left was empty when I woke up...
