Weathering...At the West of England Exhibition, I was taught a method of how to weather. I've tried it on a diesel, a couple of steam engines, and a coach, but I don't have any photos of these. I do, however, have photos of the wagons that have been dirtied up:
I'm a little undecided about how good it is...

Nicely done, Declan.
Just add some weathering to the roofs (or add more weathering!) and they'll look perfect.

Hi Declan,
They look good ....... a little track dirt the wagons pick up on the underframe and wheels wouldnt go amiss, great for a first attempt keep up the good work.

Excellent job! I'm also interested in what you used.

I used these:

I wetted the brown paint slightly, painted it ALL over the sides, then used a second brush to get the majority of it off. I saw very realistic weathering on Diesels and wagons. The brown is just general dirt, the black could be coal dust, and the white could be water marks on steam engines, or china clay.

Looks good to me. Not overdone as you sometimes see. The colliery waggon may need some coal dust on it.
