Hello,
Would this switch: https://www.hornby.com/power-and-accessories-90/r046/product.html Be suitable to use on two seperate lines, one at a time? I think it is reading the bottom bit but I'm never sure   also how do you wire it up?... simply? do you attach the switch to the controller and the wires to the tracks? Bet your getting bored now.
Thanks.

Sort of , if you use common return wiring . But if you want to make things easy you need a DPDT switch where that one is a SPDP one

Like these much cheaper ones from Maplins. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=2355&DOY=2m1
The description seems a tad strange to me though.

I find the EXPO ones my model shop sell much cheaper than maplins. You get 5 in a pack, and I think they are at least 30p each cheaper.

If you enter 'dpdt' into the Maplins search box you should see all the switches they have that may be suitable.
What I do is write down all the product codes, (on my 9p notepade from Wilkinsons), then go to the shop to see what they actually look like. If you're unsure you can always ask at the technical desk there. Make sure you don't get served by the spotty kid though.

Thanks, unfortunatly I dont think I'll have an opportunity to go to maplins, its 16 miles from here to the nearest one and I can't drive. i was thinking of ebay, this is what i was looking at: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAP...RK:MEWAX:IT&item=400028790449
