I've bought this dpdt switch, now how do I wire it and have I bought the wrong one? It's for changing from DC to DCC without having to unplug one system and plugging the other one in.

Its the right one . The end ones would go to the controllers and the centre two to the track, I will try a drawing and post it later

Thankee muchly Pete. I knew you'd come to my rescue. The bit that confused me was "no -its a 2 position on/off dpdt. I thought a dpdt was on/on, as in changing circuits.

That's great Erhard. Extremely clear and exactly what I needed. I thought that was how it should be wired, but now I'm certain. It's always best to ask before you blow things up. I bet it won't look quite so neat when I've finished the real thing.
Thank you.
