After may years of saying I was going to build a model railway layout, I have finally started, I ordered the wood last night, I think I have enough track (I can get more cheap if I don't), I have the room (garage), I have someone helping me who has got some great advise to give, I have advise here if I need it, etc.

Anyway down to the nitty gritty, basically this layout will be about 8 foot by 4 foot, will be 3 tracks wide, will feature a small highstreet scene. I am dead excited and work starts when the wood arrives. I will also be setting up a Youtube channel, website (with a blog featuring the work being done each week), and obviously a thread on here showing the layout and the work bing done.

Now for the Official Naming, it will be called

St. Petersford

I'm envious!  To me, the best part of railway modelling is the designing and building of the layout.  I hope you get as much fun out of building it as I did with mine and I look forward to seeing the results.

Best wishes
Tom
